Paladin D3 Technology

Ever wonder how the gear and tools you use work? Here’s a peek under the hood of the Paladin D3…

Your Paladin is the only solution that defends against the range of threats against information in-transport. It's powered by the Paladin Mobility Technology Suite, a proprietary combination of standard-setting (translation: very cool!) technologies.

The Paladin rigorously detects and thwarts intrusion, no matter the access point. Unlike other products, the Paladin is engineered from the core out to withstand even the most malicious attacks on information anytime a team member travels or works at different locations.

The Paladin is an integrated hardware-software solution. That means its "secret sauce" lies in the interaction of all the technical elements.

It has an exclusive design formulated specifically to work without setup, no matter where you are traveling. (Of course, ordinary precautions apply: Work only on a trusted host computing system, and check the five security do's and don'ts for specifics.)

The Paladin D3 delivers "two-factor" authentication. The idea works like this: There's a first layer of defense (biometric) - think of it as walking through the security check and thick walls into a bank vault. There's also a second layer of defense (encryption) - that's akin to the safe deposit boxes within the bank vault, each locked by its own key. On the Paladin, the safety containers are called Safe-Packs. You can create, modify and move as many Safe-Packs as needed in order to defend and control related materials together.

Paladin Mobility Intrusion Defense

With the Paladin D3, intruders don't really have a chance. The Paladin's powerful protection includes cross-verification (anti-spoofing), locked down firmware, and encryption software designed to fail if any part of it is altered or corrupted. The device will also disable itself if the security path is compromised at any point.

Paladin Mobility Microprocessor

On-board the Paladin D3 is the Paladin Mobility Microprocessor, a specialized chip that ensures your unit requires no registration or installation of any kind on any system.

Contrast this with other security tools. The vast majority require installation, drivers, admin support or other prior-to-use procedures on each and every network involved, in order to function properly (or function at all). Thus, the typical security gear can work only on a computer system that is configured to accept it.

With the Paladin Mobility Microprocessor, not only does your D3 deliver convenience; it never constrains your movement. Your needs dictate where you go and what information you bring with you - not your data defending device.

Paladin Mobility Biometric Capture

Paladin Mobility Biometric Capture radically outperforms the market on multiple fronts. It uses the ONLY silicon sensor certified by the US government to verify employee and contractor IDs.

Exceptional sensor accuracy translates into a robust system that's looking for your authorized print, and yours alone. The sensor on your Paladin is set at twice the data point standard for use by the US government.

There's also no built-in mechanism to circumvent the biometrics and allow access to your unit. Surprisingly, many common biometric procedures can't make this claim! With the Paladin, there's no substituting a password to unlock the unit, or any other device-based method that can be used for unauthorized access.

Combined, these features provide the highest level of assurance possible that nothing can take the place of the your fingerprint.

Paladin Mobility Biometric Storage

Paladin Mobility Biometric Storage is a proprietary hardware design which fully safeguards user fingerprint data. Surprisingly, some biometric applications introduce the possibility that thieves or hackers might extract and counterfeit a portion the data uniquely describing a user's fingerprints. This can lead to a new form of identity theft.

With the Paladin, your fingerprint attributes cannot be accessed by any person or outside device. Period.

Paladin Mobility Encryption Software

Paladin Mobility Encryption Software delivers performance found in no other portable application.

Most security software uses "all or nothing" encryption that leaves all your information vulnerable the minute you open up. Not so with the Paladin. By creating and managing individual SafePacks (secure data containers), you control which data you share and do not share, with whom and when. The information you don't want to share remains compartmentalized and shielded.

Flexibility and consistency are extremely advanced. You can create SafePacks on other systems as well as on your unit. That includes placing secured information on a network you share within a team, as well as a laptop, desktop or external drive. And note: if you defend your laptop using the Paladin D3, and it's stolen while you travel, not only do you hold the passwords; the software for decryption is resident elsewhere.

While commercial encryption is typically 56- or 128-bit, you're protected by 256-bit encryption. Paladin Mobility algorithms have been awarded the rigorous FIPS 140-2 certification by the National Institute of Standards & Technology.
