Paladin D3 Capabilities

What is the Paladin D3?

The Paladin D3 is a new class of data defending device: a secure information transport system. This means it enables you to carry information from one place to another - without risk or constraint. No matter where or how you travel, or the type of information you need to bring with you, your Paladin provides singular defense.

The device is extremely convenient for use as well as travel. The unit itself is self-contained, plug-and-play, and requires no particular IT expertise or support.  You may have noticed that it’s also convenient; the unit you’re working with right now was designed to match the size and weight of a deck of cards.  And you can use your Paladin D3 to defend information on a shared network, or on a laptop, computer, or even another Paladin!

The Paladin D3 incorporates highly advanced encryption and robust biometric (fingerprint recognition) capabilities. It’s a little-known fact that some applications using biometric (fingerprint recognition) technology allow thieves and hackers to extract a portion of the fingerprint data.  In contrast, the Paladin D3 safeguards the data which uniquely describes your fingerprints so that the risk of identity theft is not introduced.

Because there are several common ways in which “data in-transport” can be compromised, the Paladin has been engineered so that attempts to infiltrate or circumvent a unit render the content on it entirely inaccessible.

There is no other data defense system that can live up to these claims. Put simply, the Paladin D3 is the only solution of its kind.

When do I use my Paladin - and why?

When you travel and telecommute, you often take information with you. But the risk is high.

According to the FBI, 1 in 10 new laptops are stolen within the first year; only 10% of these will be recovered. Laptops have even been stolen from the homes of telecommuters. This same vulnerability extends to PDAs, portable drives, brief cases as well paper files and boxes. Every category of information has been compromised: detailed personal records, intellectual property, financials, legal matters, security documents, and more. The cost of these incidents?  Millions of dollars per breach.

Theft of “data in-transport” wreaks havoc on trust, reputation, productivity, and the ability to carry out a mission. Even the perception of a data assault has ended up damaging personal safety, team momentum and careers, sometimes with irreparable consequences.

Use your Paladin whenever you head out of the office with information that may be proprietary, sensitive or private .

What can I do with my Paladin?

  • Travel and telecommute without constraint. There’s no setup or IT support required to use your Paladin D3, at any of your next destinations.
  • Defend and carry the information you need directly on your device. If your Paladin D3 is lost or stolen, your files, once secured, cannot be accessed by anyone other than the authorized user.
  • Use the Paladin to defend documents on your laptop or external drive. Sometimes you may need to travel with your laptop, or transport files which are unusually large. Or one of your teams may need to share secured information within the group.  The Paladin is designed so that it can also secure (and “unlock”) data on other IT systems.
  • View or modify your secured files, or use them for presentations. The Paladin gives you access to content with a few clicks of the mouse. Meanwhile, materials you’re not working with at the moment remain encrypted.
  • Control “who sees what” from among your secured materials you've brought along. While most software protection mechanisms are “all or nothing”, the Paladin features flexible encryption. It’s organized around secured data containers, called Safe-Packs. Which means that vendors, associates or partners see only what’s inside the safe-pack you choose to open for them – and nothing else.
  • Share information with others, including transfers to other computing devices.  Often, this is why you travel: to review information with key personnel.  If they too have a Paladin D3, you can provide them with a secured version.  If not, you can make an unsecured copy.
  • Travel with ease (even through airports!) as well as complete peace of mind. Your unit is about the size and weight of a deck of cards. For air travel, since the Paladin is small and not powered, airport regulations do not require a separate security screening.

How does it work?

The Paladin D3 is packed with powerful, standard-setting technology - “two-factor” authentication, encryption that meets the highest US government standards, biometric recognition at twice the requirement for US government use, a long list of intrusion detection and protection mechanisms, and more...
